Dehradun, a city in the foothills of the Himalayas known for its beautiful environment, Quality Schools, Litchi Plantations and Basmati rice. City witnessed changes since the creation of state of Uttarakhand in the year 2000. Over the last 18 years Dehradun is capital of state which has resulted in mass migration from hills, rural areas, and high tourist footprints leading to an ever increasing pressure on the limited resource. This leads to increase in air pollution, waste problems, traffic, energy consumption, and parking problems. Besides this, lack of playground, parks, cycle lane, and green spaces are local challenges for its residents.
