San Marcos

The waterways in San Marcos are at the heart of TXST University, home to endangered species, and a cooling reprieve from the heat and stress of classes for many students. With water at the core of our campus and, ultimately, world survival we will be working with local organizations invested in San Marcos waterways to determine: how we can improve water quality and reduce pollution, how do we increase water recycling and reuse, how we might involve the local community to improve water and sanitation management, how we can make sure there is (and will be) enough fresh water for everyone, and how we prepare our city for the results of climate change such as flooding or water scarcity.

It’s a global problem solved one community at a time, at the local level.
