Global Goals Jam (“GGJ”) is an initiative by the U.N. Development Program, the Digital Society School, and the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam. GGJ designs startups and projects for a more sustainable future.
GGJ in New York is a six-hour event consisting of discussions and short design sprints, during which business plans will be created to meet the U.N.’s sustainable development goals in the city.
Creative teams of designers and developers work together using a tailored toolkit that applies methods of design thinking to address and solve global challenges.
The GGJ workshop aims to:
– Introduce the audience to the methodology of GGJ design thinking, allowing them to create their own sustainable products and startups
– Conduct a series of analytical and visual exercises applying design thinking to attain the Sustainable Development Goals in a local context
Each team will deliver a business plan for a startup initiative to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals’ specified targets.
