Jam

Heerlen

The Global Goals Jam is a weekend workshop consisting of design sprints in which creatives, academics, activists and representatives of businesses, NGOs and other organisations work together to develop local activities that serve the sustainable development goals (SDGs). We will look at concrete sustainability challenges people and certain actors face and develop solutions for them in interdisciplinary teams.

The Heerlen/Kerkrade Jam will address sustainable development for people and the planet (SDG 11, sustainable cities and communities). The Heerlen/Kerkrade region has suffered from the implosion of industry in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It still struggles with higher rates of shrinkage, unemployment, need for healthcare and illiteracy than average. During the jam we’ll focuss quality of life in an aging society.

Do you have a passion for solving social challenges to improve lives? Do you want to be part of a small group of committed people who will spend a weekend hacking innovative solutions to challenges that can help us contribute to achieving the Global Goals? Join us in the third edition of the #GlobalGoalsJam in the Heerlen/Kerkrade region. You are invited to expand your network, learn about and utilise design thinking methods, and develop and share your ideas in real-time with other participants from across the globe!
