During the 2015 Social Good Summit, world leaders adopted the Sustainable Development Goals. In 109 locations around the world, people discussed these 17 Global Goals and what they would mean for their lives. This year we will take action, once again. We, the United Nations Development Programme  and MediaLAB Amsterdam (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences), are inviting you to join the 2nd edition of the #GlobalGoalsJam. Join us to design interventions for the Sustainable Development Goals that matter most to you. Connecting Today, Creating Tomorrow. Let's #Design2030Now!

The #GlobalGoalsJam 2016 was a two day event consisting of short design sprints. Creative teams, with designers, developers and Jammers from the local community will work together using a tailored toolkit. The main goal of the Jam was to create interventions aimed at short term targets in support of the long term goals. Have a look at the official end-video on the right. Design 2030 Now!

Connecting Today, Creating Tomorrow

To officially announce the first ever Global Goals Jam, the team of MediaLAB Amsterdam travelled to New York to record this video with our partner UNDP. After launching the video over 20 locations applied to participate, of whom 17 eventually organized a jam.

Social Good Summit 2016

The #GlobalGoalsJam was officially presented by Gijs Gootjes and Marco van Hout (both MediaLAB Amsterdam) on the main stage of the Social Good Summit. Alongside speakers such as vice president Joe Biden, Alec Baldwin and John Kerry.

This video shows a selection of all the video material that was submitted by local organizers. It shows the energy, passion and wonderful team work of all locations in a couple of minutes. Enjoy!
